Spreading Awareness on Menstrual Health and Hygiene at Jyotiba School

On April 14, 2025, Kirloskar Institute of Management, with the support of Pinkishe Foundation, conducted a Menstrual Health & Hygiene Education Camp and Free Sanitary Pad Distribution at Jyotiba Primary and Secondary School, Bebedohal, Pune, Maharashtra. This initiative aimed to educate young girls and women on menstrual health, proper hygiene practices, and the importance of using sanitary products.

Health Education for Empowerment: Addressing Menstrual Hygiene

The session focused on comprehensive menstrual health education, including understanding the menstrual cycle, maintaining hygiene during periods, and debunking common myths and misconceptions. The Kirloskar Institute of Management team, guided by Pinkishe Foundation, provided practical tips on self-care, aiming to equip participants with knowledge that fosters better menstrual health management.

Supporting Menstrual Health with Free Sanitary Pad Distribution

One of the key components of this camp was the free distribution of sanitary pads to ensure that all participants had access to necessary menstrual hygiene products. This effort targeted students and local women who often face challenges in accessing reliable sanitary products, thus promoting health and dignity.

Fostering Open Conversations: Breaking the Menstrual Taboo

Creating a safe and respectful environment, the event encouraged open conversations around menstruation. By normalizing period talk, the session helped break the stigma and empower participants to discuss menstrual health without hesitation. This approach fosters a community where menstruation is seen as a natural and manageable aspect of life.

Pinkishe Foundation’s Commitment to Menstrual Health Awareness

This event is part of Pinkishe Foundation’s broader mission to support menstrual health education and ensure access to hygiene products, especially in schools and communities with limited resources. Through such collaborations, we strive to create a supportive environment where young girls and women can manage their menstrual health confidently and with dignity.
