Celebrating One of India’s Most Sacred Festivals

Chhath Puja is one of the most significant Hindu festivals, celebrated with deep devotion to Surya Dev (the Sun God) and Chhathi Maiya. While traditionally observed across Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal, its spiritual charm has now touched hearts all over India.

The festival is a beautiful expression of gratitude—devotees thank nature for giving life, strength, and energy, and pray for the wellbeing of their families. Chhath Puja also strengthens community bonds, promoting unity, purity, and collective harmony.

Understanding the Spirit of Chhath Puja

Over four days, devotees perform a series of rituals and offer traditional prasad to Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya. The rituals include fasting, holy bathing, preparing sacred offerings, and paying obeisance to the setting and rising sun.
Each ritual symbolizes purity, discipline, and unwavering faith.

Chhath Puja reflects the soul of Indian culture—where nature is revered, family comes first, and devotion is expressed through simplicity and sincerity.

Celebrating Chhath Through Folk Songs on Swara

To honour the essence of this festival, Pinkishe Foundation celebrated Chhath Puja through a special Swara session, bringing the vibrance of traditional Chhath folk music to life. Hosted by Indu Misha, the session invited audiences to immerse themselves in the beauty and devotion of the folk theme:

“Kaanch Hi Baans Ke Bahangiya, Bahngi Lachakat Jaay.”

Listeners were warmly invited to join online and experience the charm of authentic Chhath folk songs presented by renowned folk artists. The session not only highlighted the cultural richness of the festival but also deepened participants’ understanding of its spiritual significance.

A Cultural Immersion Filled with Faith and Music

The Swara platform transformed into a vibrant celebration of devotion, melody, and cultural pride. Through music, stories, and tradition, participants connected with the spirit of Chhath Puja—expressing their reverence for Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya.

Pinkishe Foundation continues to celebrate Indian culture through Swara, providing spaces where traditions are honoured, voices are heard, and communities come together in joy and devotion.
