Pinkishe Foundation, in collaboration with Gyanda Bharti Charitable and Educational Trust, recently conducted a menstrual hygiene literacy session and pads distribution drive. This initiative aimed to empower young girls with essential knowledge about menstrual health and provide them with the necessary resources to manage their periods effectively.
The session included an engaging and informative conversation about the importance of tracking menstrual cycles. Many of the girls shared that they used to remember their monthly dates, which often led to confusion and unnecessary worry. The facilitators introduced the simple yet effective method of marking the calendar each month, which brought a new perspective to the girls.
They learned the importance of noting the first day of their period rather than the last, helping them track their cycles more accurately. This practical advice not only eased their concerns but also provided them with a reliable way to manage their menstrual health.
Besides the educational discussions, sanitary pads were distributed to all attendees, ensuring they have the necessary hygiene supplies. The girls left the session feeling more empowered and knowledgeable about their menstrual health.
