On 7th September 2024, Pinkishe Foundation will organize a Menstrual Health & Hygiene Education Session at Girls High School, Sahapur, Kolkata, West Bengal. The session will be led by Swapna Ghosh and will focus on educating young girls about the importance of menstrual health and proper hygiene practices.
During the session, Swapna Ghosh will cover essential topics such as understanding the menstrual cycle, managing menstrual hygiene, and debunking prevalent myths about menstruation. The interactive format will encourage participants to ask questions, ensuring that the girls gain the knowledge they need to manage their periods confidently.
In an effort to address common concerns, the session will also include a Q&A segment. For example, many young girls are unsure whether irregular periods are normal. Swapna Ghosh will explain how irregular periods can be common during puberty but that persistent issues should be discussed with a healthcare professional. This open dialogue will help break down the stigma around menstruation, empowering the girls to care for their health.
To further support menstrual hygiene, Pinkishe Foundation will distribute free sanitary pads to all participants after the session. This ensures that every girl leaves the event not only informed but also equipped with the necessary products to manage their periods with confidence and dignity.
Pinkishe Foundation remains committed to raising awareness and supporting menstrual health by providing both education and essential resources to young girls across communities.
