Pinkishe Foundation's Collaborative Effort with NPCL

Pinkishe Foundation, in partnership with Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL), proudly announces the launch of Project Sankalp. This initiative is dedicated to enhancing menstrual health and hygiene management (MHHM) in Greater Noida's rural communities. Thanks to NPCL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support, this project tackles critical issues surrounding menstruation and reproductive health in underserved areas.

Empowering Communities through Education and Access

Project Sankalp is set to conduct comprehensive MHHM sessions across seven villages in Greater Noida. These sessions aim to educate women and girls about menstruation, reproductive health, and essential menstrual hygiene practices. As part of the initiative, Pinkishe Foundation is also organizing pad distribution drives to ensure women have access to necessary menstrual hygiene products.

Improving Infrastructure and Tackling Stigma

Beyond educational efforts, Sankalp focuses on improving infrastructure by installing incinerators in seven schools. This measure promotes the safe disposal of menstrual waste. The project addresses both physical needs and societal stigmas related to menstruation, fostering a more supportive environment.

Overcoming Challenges and Empowering Change

Initially, Project Sankalp faced resistance due to societal taboos around openly discussing menstruation. To overcome this challenge, Pinkishe Foundation worked closely with local anganwadi workers to effectively communicate the project's objectives and benefits, overcoming initial hesitancy.

Enabling Local Women as Menstrual Educators

A crucial aspect of Sankalp’s sustainability is the empowerment of local women. Two women from the community have been trained as menstrual educators. These educators are now equipped to lead efforts in advocating for menstrual health and hygiene awareness.

Conclusion

Project Sankalp represents a significant milestone for Pinkishe Foundation. It underscores our commitment to empowering women and ensuring access to essential health resources. Through Sankalp, we aim to transform lives, promote knowledge, and uphold dignity among women and girls in rural Noida.
