Pinkishe Foundation Unveils Project Prayatna: A Landmark Step Towards Menstrual Health Equity

May 2026

Expanding public awareness, community engagement, and accessible menstrual health support through a transformative partnership with Amazon India

May 2026 marked a defining milestone in Pinkishe Foundation's mission to create equitable, accessible, and stigma-free menstrual health ecosystems with the launch of Project Prayatna in partnership with Amazon India on World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

Unveiled in Gurugram in the presence of IRS Amanpreet Passi, Amazon India leadership, community stakeholders, and implementation partners, Project Prayatna represents one of the Foundation's most ambitious menstrual health initiatives to date. Designed to create lasting impact at scale, the project brings together awareness, education, community outreach, public engagement, and technology-enabled support systems to advance menstrual health across Delhi NCR.

Reimagining Public Spaces for Social Change

One of the most visible highlights of Project Prayatna was the inauguration of 50 menstrual health murals at the Millennium City Centre underpass in Gurugram. Developed over 60 days by a dedicated team of artists, the mural installation transforms a prominent public space into a platform for awareness, dialogue, and community engagement.

By bringing conversations around menstruation into the public domain, the initiative challenges long-standing stigma and encourages greater visibility for menstrual health issues, reinforcing the importance of normalising these conversations across society.

Taking Menstrual Health Awareness Directly to Communities

Project Prayatna also introduced Delhi NCR's first Menstrual Awareness Van, a mobile outreach platform designed to deliver menstrual health education and support directly to communities.

Equipped with educational resources, digital learning tools, and a private consultation space, the van travels across different locations in Delhi NCR, creating opportunities for women, girls, and community members to access accurate information and engage in meaningful conversations around menstrual health. The initiative extends awareness beyond institutional settings and strengthens outreach to underserved populations.

Building Inclusive Participation in Menstrual Health Conversations

Recognising that menstrual health is a shared social responsibility, Project Prayatna seeks to engage not only women and girls but also men and boys as active participants in creating supportive communities.

As part of the initiative, the awareness anthem "Mahwari Se Darna Nahi Hai" was launched to encourage greater involvement, understanding, and allyship. By fostering inclusive dialogue, the project aims to create an environment where menstrual health is openly discussed and collectively supported.

Leveraging Innovation for Education and Support

To strengthen access to reliable menstrual health information, Project Prayatna introduced a series of educational video resources developed specifically for community outreach and awareness-building activities.

The project also launched a dedicated Menstrual Health IVR Helpline, providing an accessible channel through which individuals can seek information, guidance, and support. By integrating technology-driven solutions into its outreach model, the initiative expands access to menstrual health resources and empowers communities with trusted knowledge.

Advancing Menstrual Health Equity at Scale

The launch activities form part of the broader vision of Project Prayatna, which aims to reach approximately 450,000 women and girls through 7,500 menstrual health education sessions across Delhi NCR.

Through its multidimensional approach, the initiative seeks to strengthen awareness, improve access to information and support services, and foster long-term behavioural and social change. By combining public engagement, community outreach, educational interventions, and innovative support mechanisms, Project Prayatna represents a significant step towards achieving menstrual health equity and dignity for all.

As Pinkishe Foundation continues to expand its impact, the launch of Project Prayatna stands as a landmark milestone in the organisation's journey to build informed, empowered, and healthier communities through sustainable menstrual health interventions.
