About the Job

Pinkishe Foundation is seeking a skilled and dedicated Accountant, preferably with experience working in the NGO sector in India. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and contributing to the financial compliance of the organization.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Keeping:
    1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including receipts, vouchers, and invoices.
    2. Prepare and post journal entries.
    3. Record all financial transactions in accounting software - Tally.
  2. Budget Management:
    1. Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets for various projects and programs.
    2. Track expenses against budgeted amounts.
  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    1. Process invoices and payments in a timely manner.
    2. Follow up on outstanding receivables and ensure timely collections.
  4. Bank and Cash Management:
    1. Reconcile bank statements and cash balances.
    2. Prepare bank deposits and withdrawals.
  5. Financial Reporting:
    1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    2. Generate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Compliance and Documentation:
    1. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) for NGOs.
    2. Maintain organized financial documentation for audits and reviews.
  7. Support Auditing:
    1. Assist in the annual financial audit process.
    2. Provide necessary documentation and information to auditors.
  8. Financial Analysis:
    1. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    2. Make recommendations to management based on financial analysis.

Who Can Apply

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (1-2 years) working as an Accountant in an NGO, preferably with knowledge of FCRA compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software Tally and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Good understanding of Indian accounting standards and taxation laws.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
