PinkisheFoundation Covid19 LockdownSeries (Episode 4)

Commencement of sudden lock down has undoubtedly created an unanticipated chaos among economically weaker section.

Underprivileged Females are the most distressed due to various reasons, non availability of sanitary pads being one of them.

Pinkishe Foundation always stands for the cause of menstrual hygiene. We regularly donate free reusable sanitary pads to underprivileged females all over India under our Padbank program (https://www.pinkishe.org/padbank).

A few days back, 20 village girls of Baropaik Gaon, 20 kms from Jorhat town, Assam were in dire need of sanitary pads. They were not left with any supply of this necessary stuff that prompted one of those girls, Priyanka Dutta to approach SP Jorhat Sri Mrinal Talukdar.

He immediately contacted and requested our Assam Branch President Sumita Bandyopadhyay to help those village girls.

Ms Sumita along with her husband @Tanoy Bandyopadhyay visited the village on April 18th, 2020.

She donated sanitary pads to those 20 girls. The girls felt happy with this gesture of Pinkishe.

Post that, Ms. Sumita, took an awareness session on menstrual Hygiene and menstural Absorbents.

We ensured social distancing all the while.

We received Police support throughout the drive.

After the camp, Priyanka thanked Pinkishe Foundation for coming to their rescue at these testing times.

Pinkishe Foundation extends our gratitude to Ms Sumita, Dr Tanoy, SP Sri Mrinal Talukdar @Syamanta BoruahDr along with Assam Police Department and all our contributors for helping us in this noble cause.
